Today is a shooting-from-the-hip kind of day. I originally planned on doing a post about natural family planning (and the reasons why I will never (again) take hormonal birth control) but I wasn’t feeling pulled to share it today.
So instead, I’m improvising today’s post.
I figured today would be a great day to do a Day In The Life (DITL) post since I don’t think I’ve done one in a long while.
Let me know in the comments if you like this style of post and if you want to see more of them.
Day In The Life
I woke up a bit high because I ate a late dinner and was sleeping 2 hours after my dinner Bolus. Normally I have Dexcom to catch this kind of thing, but it fell off in the middle of the night (it was hanging on by a thread). I realized it the moment it happened but said eff it and went back to sleep.
While I got breakfast ready and set up the crockpot, Jett and Miles were entertaining themselves by the fire. Miles likes to watch Jett and Jett likes to watch Miles. It’s perfect for keeping them both entertained.
The crockpot set up was pretty easy since I prepped it the night before and just had to pull it out of the fridge and set it in the base.
Breakfast had to be super fast since I was running late. So PB&J smoothies it was! Then I brushed my teeth, got dressed, and ran out the door.
Snack was DF blueberry yogurt with a bit of granola. I forgot to take pictures of my lunch because my lunch break was mostly spend running errands, but for those wondering it was a salad with grilled chicken and guacamole!
On my drive home I LOVE to listen to podcasts and right now I’m really digging the Stuff You Should Know podcast.
When we got home we had a long nursing session in front of the fire.
After a 30 minute nursing session (normally they aren’t that long anymore) I changed Miles into his PJ’s and he played with his activity mat while I got dinner ready.
He pretty quickly found the most entertaining part of the activity mat, the tag.
Dinner was egg sandwiches! I made a keto mug biscuit (3 TBSP Almond Flour, 1.5 TBSP butter or ghee, 1 egg, pinch of salt – microwave 90 seconds) and topped it with drippy eggs, DF cheese, bacon, and everything bagel seasoning. And of course, my favorite, sauerkraut.
