Fall is in full bloom here in New Hampshire! Every morning I am reminded why this is my favorite season.
I am typically all about decorating the house in cheesy halloween & thanksgiving decor, but for some reason this year I wanted to pull it back. I am taking a much more minimalist approach to our seasonal decor this year. All those boxes of halloween decorations are staying tucked away in the barn this year.
Part of my minimalist Fall decor is this DIY fall garland. I collected a handful of leaves; all different sizes and colors from our yard. I used mini clothespins to hang them on the twin and strung them up over our slider in the dining room.
This craft is super simple, doesn’t cost much, and gives you a fun & fast craft to do every Fall.
While I was making the fall garland I put a simmer pot on the stove to really get the Fall vibes flowing. Simmer pots fill the house with an incredible scent and don’t have any of the harmful effects of scented candles (see what I’m talking about here). I put about ⅛ cup of mulling spices in a pot of water and let simmer for about 15-20 minutes. The scent fills the house almost instantly and lingers for a good part of the day.
Question of the Day
Do you decorate for the seasons/holidays? What are some of your favorite decorations?
