Wooohooo it’s Friday! Did this week fly by for you too? This has been a crazy busy week for us, which is probably why it’s been flying by, and most definitely why I missed yesterday’s post. It’s also why this Friday Favorites post is going to be shorter than most weeks, but I hope you still enjoy it!
Friday Favorites #32
Low-Key Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day is not a major holiday in the Martin Household, but it still gets celebrated. We like to keep the celebrations low-key, and it usually doesn’t look any different than a low-key night-in, but maybe with a special dessert and extra snuggles.
New Dinner Recipes
I always love trying out new dinner recipes, tho it can be daring because you never know how it’s going to turn out. I have a few favorite food bloggers that seem to share my palate, which makes trusting the new recipe a bit easier. One of these food bloggers is The Toasted Pinenut.
On Wednesday night we made her Creamy Sun-Dried Tomato Chicken Recipe and it was delicious! I served Justin’s on top of linguine and mine on top of thinly sliced cabbage (like a veggie linguine).
The only thing I am going to change next time around is adding cornstarch (or a thickener) to the sauce to make it more creamy. I think my sauce was a bit thin because I replaced the heavy cream with full-fat coconut milk (canned). There is always a bit of tweaking when you start modifying the original recipe to accommodate for food sensitivities.
Crazy Work Sandwiches
I wish I could blame my crazy palate on the pregnancy, but putting chips inside a sandwich or wrap has been my favorite for a very long time. Turkey club wraps just taste so much better when you lay down a few salt and vinegar chips inside it.
I love both Kristen Bell and Dax Shepherd. I think their relationship is adorable and hilarious (from what they show to the public at least) so I was so excited when I found out that Dax just started a Podcast called Armchair Expert and one of his interviewees is his wife, Kristen Bell. Check out it here.
