It’s Friday!! How amazing are Fridays?! And if you celebrate Easter this means lots of great family time to look forward to too. For those of you who read yesterday’s post you may know that Jett injured his paw pretty badly on Monday night, so our mornings… and evenings have been consumed by cleaning his paw, wrapping it in bandages, and carrying him in and out for bathroom breaks. Needless to say my posts this week are looking pretty sparse.
But Jett is on the mend, so hopefully by next week I can be back into my normal routine!
Some of you have been asking about baby registry items, so I figured next week I’ll share with you what’s on my natural baby registry (and an explanation of why so-called “necessity” items are NOT on our list).
Let’s jump right into this week’s Friday Favorites! Every week I share a list of things that have been making me smile. Let me know in the comments below what you’re loving this week!
Friday Favorites #36
Dexcom G6 got FDA Approval!
This was by far the most exciting part of my week! On Tuesday, Dexcom announced that they got FDA approval for their Dexcom G6! When I called the office Wednesday morning I spoke with a rep who said they’ll be announcing the launch date next week. Apparently they haven’t started production on them quite yet because they didn’t expect to get approval until the summer. With their hind ends in high gear, I’m hoping they will be ready for sale in the summer.
The Dexcom G6 is smaller in size than the G5, doesn’t need calibrations (though you can calibrate if you’d like), and has a self inserting system! The only downside I foresee is that there is a hard shut off after 10 days. While at first thought this may stink, especially for those of us who like to get 2-3 weeks out of their sensors, this was a step they had to take to eliminate calibrations and to make the sensor as accurate as possible for future closed loop systems.
The snow has barely melted and I have already whipped out the flip flops! What’s even better is that these sandals are made from yoga mats and the soles are so soft and squishy!
I am so happy that the timing of my 3rd trimester lands me in flip flop season because even pull on boots have become a daunting task! For those wondering, I got these sandals on amazon here in the light natural color.
Building My Baby Registry
I did a lot of research before building my baby registry. I watched hours of “what’s on my registry” and “what I regret putting on my registry” youtube videos. I scrolled through hundreds of review and ingredients in baby diapers, baby body care products, car seats, and more! I am so happy with where my registry is at and I can’t wait to share it with you next week!
Used Test Strip Trash Outlet in Omnipod Bag
So I’ve had this Omnipod Bag by Sugar Medical for some time now and only recently did I discover that this little slit/outlet is for your used test strips! How genius is that? And this puppy can hold a lot! I have over 200 used test strips in here and am still going strong!
