Good Morning T1D Living Fam! How has your week been? I don’t know about you, but I am SUPER STOAKED for this weekend, not because anything extraordinary is happening, but just because weekends are AWESOME!
Per usual, it’s Friday Favorites time! Let me know in the comments below something that made you happy this week!
Friday Favorites #57
Moonology by Yasmin Boland
My latest #naptrapped read was this book by Yasmin Boland. I am so fascinated by the moon and astrology and this was a great intro book to the subject!
Did you know the cycles of the moon have a huge effect on our health, our mood, our relationships, and our work? By understanding these phases, we can work with them to improve and empower every aspect of our lives. In Moonology, world-renowned astrologist Yasmin Boland unveils why connecting with the moon can change your life for the better. This is a book for all those wishing to deepen their connection with nature and take their spiritual practice to a new level.
Incase you missed yesterday’s post, you need to try out this low carb seedy bread recipe! Each slice only has 3.4 net carbs!
Vitamin C Immune Boost
We’re entering cold and flu season which means it’s time for me to give my immune system a little extra TLC. This vitamin C powder comes 100% from food (which is the most beneficial way to absorb vitamins). It is a blend of Camu Camu berries and other fruits that are chock full of Vitamin C!
Working Out Post C-Section
This week I have slowly started introducing workouts back into my daily routine. I am 3 ½ months post surgery and up until now have really only been going on small walks and house chores. I wanted to make sure I gave my body the rest it needed to recovery fully before I started to stress it out with exercise.
My workouts have been very light, typically only lasting 20 minutes or so, and I am still avoiding anything ab focused or anything that is too bouncy (like running or HITT workouts). I have to say it feel GREAT to get my heart rate up again and in just the few days since starting this, I’ve already seen a reduction in my insulin needs. Crazy how even the tiniest amount of exercise influences your insulin sensitivity!
Miles loves to watch me move around, and just recently started to grab-hold of things, like Jett’s tail. I have some pretty solid, non-distracting, workout buddies.
