Happy Friday guys!! For those of you living in New England, are you ready for Harper?! You know, Harper, that massive winter storm that is bringing us 2 feet of beautiful, white, fluffy snow. While Justin is super excited to dress Miles up in his snow suit and pull him around in his sled (which I am too!), I’m super excited that I timed our grocery shopping perfectly and that I don’t have to hit it up the day before a storm. Because we all know that grocery stores are PURE CHAOS before a storm.
What better pre-storm breakfast than some loaded noatmeal?! Noatmeal is not-oatmeal, made from shredded coconut flakes instead of oats. I topped it with some gingerbread granola, dates, and banana. Get my recipe here.
Pause. I don’t go crazy with the granola, dates, and banana since they are pretty dense in carbs, but I find that just a sprinkle is enough to give that great flavor dimensions I’m looking for.
Every Friday I share with you a list of things that has put a smile on my face this week. And this Friday is no different! I love knowing what has made YOU smile just as much as I like sharing my list with you, so let me know in the comments section!
If you caught yesterday’s post then you’re probably familiar with this book. I just finished it last night and WOOOW guys, WOW! Adam Schreiner has an incredibly positive outlook on diabetes and life. I highly recommend picking up a copy if you want to take your diabetes outlook to another level.
Travelers on Netflix
It’s funny how our Netflix habits have changed since having Miles. Pre-Miles we used to CRUSH entire series in just a couple of days… Now, it takes us two weeks just to finish one episode. So while it’s been two weeks since we started this series, and we’re only on episode 2, I will say that this series is crazy good!
The premise is –
Way in the future, the last surviving humans discover a way to travel back in time to save humanity from extinction. What is super interesting is HOW they time travel. Instead of both their soul AND body traveling back in time, it’s just the soul that travels. Their traveling soul takes possession of a person’s body moments before their death; essentially hermit-crabbing their souls into this soon “empty” body. This body takeover makes it seem like the person (who would have died….has died) is still living – making it super important that these travelers from the future know as much as they can about the deceased person’s life so they don’t blow their cover.
Stuff You Should Know Podcast
If you’re looking for a new Podcast check out “Stuff You Should Know”! It’s a podcast that features little tidbits of useless information (which, let’s all admit, is the best kind!) in 20-40 minute segments. They talk about things like how airbags work, how schizophrenia works, and how fossils work. They discuss unique snowflakes, the safety pin, and the origins of lemonade.
