Talk about a busy week! If you read my post earlier this week then you know how busy Justin and I have been this week. With Miles being sick last weekend we couldn’t really do much of anything which meant all those weekend things we had planned on doing (like chores, errands, and the average to-do list) had to be put on pause.
Well, I’m happy to report that all of the things on our list got done! And now I’m ready for a nap! But since I have to go to work a nap is just not in the cards for me. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Miles will stay on this good sleeping stretch that he’s been on well in to the weekend because mama needs some shut eye!
Let’s get this weekend started, shall we?!!
Friday Favorites #65
Heating Soup without a Microwave at Work
Hate microwaves? You’re not alone! I hate them too. But how else are you supposed to heat up your lunch at work? Let me introduce you to my NEW LOVE, my mini crockpot. It heats up soups, stew, casserole, and really anything you need to heat up! It takes about 15-20 minutes to warm up your lunch and the best part, no microwave.
(Breast) Pumping Station at Work Conference
I love how nursing-friendly places are becoming. Maybe because it’s the law or maybe it’s because people are embracing breastfeeding and trying to help a mama out. I like to think it’s the latter.
Earlier this week I had a work conference that took up a good chunk of the day. Because of the timing I would have to find a place to pump during that conference.
I gave the hotel a call the day before and asked if they had an empty room that I could use for pumping so that I wouldn’t have to use a bathroom. The receptionist was super nice and said they get this all the time and that they would have the maids make up a guest room for me to go into. #love
New PDM and GREAT Omnipod Customer Service
For the past few months my PDM has been resetting every time I change the batteries . It still keeps my ratios and everything, but it makes me deactivate my pod, reset the date and time, and won’t give me any calculations for 3 hours.
At first I thought it was a system update that changed, but then someone posted the same issue on their instagram account and said it was a glitch with the internal PDM memory and that Omnipod was replacing PDMs that had this glitch.
I just want to pause a moment and say that if you’re considering getting the Omnipod I still highly recommend it and LOVE my Omnipod!! This ‘glitch’ was in no way dangerous or affected my BG in anyway. It was more of an annoyance than anything else because it created a few extra step for me at every battery change.
Back to the PDM glitch.
If this glitch is happening to you then call Omnipod. They will send you a new PDM, overnight, free of charge. You can tell this is a new PDM because my “home” button is not worn away.
Hands Phone Stand
There are so many instances where I need a mini tripod or phone stand (like when I’m cooking and trying to read a recipe, pumping (breast milk) at work and trying to watch a video, or trying to take a selfie) but everything I found was either too big and bulky and wouldn’t fit in my purse or wasn’t flexible enough to be what I needed it to be.
I bought this phone stand with pretty low expectations because I’ve been phone-stand-burned so many times. But guys! This thing rocks! It’s super easy to set up, fits in my purse and bonus… they come in a two-pack!
Elephants Episode on Stuff You Should Know Podcast
Dolphins have been my favorite animal for as long as I can remember… over 20 years at least! That’s a pretty strong & solid favorite, right? Probably won’t change, right?
This episode changed what my favorite animal was within the first 20 minutes. Elephants are officially the coolest animals ever! Give it a listen here:
