Those of you who have ever had a puppy know how essential it is for your pup to burn off all that excess energy. Hubby and I are very quickly learning that our puppy is a high-energy level dog, which we love because we are both very active people.
We start off our mornings at 5:30am and take our pooch on a 45 min walk. Then on my lunch breaks I either walk him again or play with him in the yard for 30min. When we get home from work he gets another walk. This one usually lasts about 1 hour. You’d think after all that exercise he’d be ready to tap out, allowing me to cook dinner and unwind, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
We decided that we needed to start turning our walks into runs. This was probably the best decision of my life (okay, well maybe not in my entire life… but it’s definitely in the top 10). Puppy loves to run. He was having so much fun and was so focused. He wasn’t worried about sniffing every blade of grass or playing tug-of-war with the leash. He was a power house and when we got home he was actually tired! I am happy to say that I am now able to cook dinners and unwind with peace, knowing that my little man is tired from a busy fun-filled day.
