Hey guys! Long time no talk. I took a small hiatus from blogging because wedding plans got me like WOAH! There are definitely pros and cons to having your wedding at your house. Pros being that there are no venue fees and you can do whatever the heck you want! The cons are that you have to prepare your house for an actual wedding. That means everything interior and exterior has to be in tip-top shape.
One of the last things on our list was to give the inside of our house a fresh coat of paint (zero VOC paint of course). We had spackled and primed the walls about a year ago but never got around to actually painting them because of how busy we were. Living in a house with white patches all over the walls isn’t exactly the most zen feeling, so you can imagine how psyched I was (still am!) to finally have beautiful walls. To top it off, every room was a different color so it really broke up the layout.
For the entire upstairs we chose the color Oklahoma Wheat by Benjamin Moore.
We absolutely LOVE the color and it looks so great against our pine floors and maple cabinets. It’s amazing how much brighter and bigger the room feels now, especially that every room is the same color. Hubby was up late last night putting on the final coat of paint, so once we put everything back in it’s place this evening I’ll take a picture and show you guys.
The nice thing about Benjamin Moore is that they offer all their paint colors in a NO VOC option called Natura. We still haven’t decided on a color for the downstairs, but I’m loving the idea of a robin’s egg blue color.
We’ve been super busy expanding our yard too. Jett loves all the extra space to run around and chase chipmunks.
I hope you guys are having an awesome week so far, check back again tomorrow for the “after” pictures.
UPDATE: Here are the pictures as promised! I had a little camera malfunction so I apologize for the poor quality of my cell phone camera.
