Hey guys! I decided to start a new series called Day in the Life. I’ll share what I eat, what I’m listening to, what workouts I’m doing, and more! Everyday I’ll end with a screenshot of my daily BG graph with annotations of when I gave insulin, when I ate, when I worked out etc. so you can see how I manage different foods & activities in my day-to-day life.

Day in the Life #1
Yesterday, our morning started off like most mornings, with an egg sandwich (openface), chocolate PB smoothie, and some oranges.
I completely forgot to bolus for this 35g carb breakfast. I have no idea how.
After breakfast Miles helped me chop some veggies and get the crockpot set up with a beef stew.
We cleaned up then I started my work from home morning while Miles played with some playdough and dinosaurs.
We took a break after a couple hours for snack time. We had some apples & beef sticks.
Before jumping back into work I read him a couple books, he read one to me, then I set him up with some old boxes & watercolor paint and got back to work.
Before lunch we suited up in our winter gear and took a walk around our property with Jett. When we got back inside I made some gluten free tortillas for our open face chicken quesadillas. I paired them with some sweet & spicy meatballs.
You’d think I’d remember to bolus for lunch, since I forgot to for breakfast, but noooooOOOOo. I did however realize my mistake mid-eating and bolused before my lunch was over.
After lunch Miles went down for a nap and I got a couple more hours of work done.
When he woke up we had a slice of banana bread and made a raw carrot salad. We played a couple rounds of Hungry Hungry Hippos and then suited up to head to our freezing cold garage so I could get a workout in.
While I was getting my workout in, Miles played with his balance bike, made a castle out of jumbo jenga blocks, and “fixed” his bike with some of Justin’s tools.
After my workout I had a protein shake from Four Sigmatic. I like to add a pinch of salt and cinnamon.
Then we headed back inside so I could finish my work day while Justin played with Miles.
After my work day was done Miles helped me slice up some potatoes for sweet potato fries, which we paired with our crock-pot beef stew.
Overall, my BG was very responsive. I wished I hadn’t forgotten to bolus for breakfast and lunch, but it came right down when I did. The overnight lows were just compression lows and leveled out once I rolled over.
