Happy Friday! We woke up to a blanket of snow and are expected to get over 12″ today! Which is CRAZY because just yesterday it was 60F! Needless to say, before we even had breakfast we were suited up and outside playing in the snow. Tho I did manage to take my thyroid meds before heading outside #win!
After about 30 minutes our bellies were grumbling so we came inside to make some breakfast. But this post isn’t about today, this post is about yesterday! So let’s rewind to yesterday morning…
Our morning started off like most mornings, eggs, toast, sausage, and oranges. We’ve been adding jalapeños, onions, and DF cheese to our scrambled eggs lately and it’s been DELICIOUS!
After breakfast we got ready for the day and headed out the door. I dropped Miles off at daycare and headed into work. This day was 60F which is INSANELY WARM for New Hampshire in February. So after I put my lunch in the fridge and said hi to all my co-workers I took my laptap and parked myself on the picnic tables outside.
My battery died around noon, which was perfect timing for lunch so I ate my lunch and headed out on a walk. For lunch I had orange chicken, over 1/2 white rice + 1/2 cauli rice, and Brussels sprouts with a side of carrot salad.
I finished off my day at work, picked up Miles, and started on dinner, which was baked haddock, scallops in bacon, leftover Brussels sprouts, and DF GF mac n’ cheese.
After dinner and clean up we snuggled on the couch. While Miles watched Inspector Gadget I poured over these chicken books.
We’re getting chickens in a few weeks and I need a refresher on raising chicks since the last time we did it was about 5 years ago. I am so excited and can’t wait to welcome 8 baby chicks to our coop!

What a beautiful dog. LOL the little guy shoveling snow reminds me of my sons.
Thank you! And yes, little guy loves to help and do whatever we’re doing – so we put that motivation to good use!
We are getting baby chicks this spring too! We live in Maine so I’m curious what breeds you’re getting – since we have very similar weather to you.
How exciting! We’re getting Rhode Island Reds, Production Reds, Americanas, and Barneveiders this year
