Friday Favorites #12
And just like that it’s Friday again! I can’t wait to kick-off this weekend because we have a fun couple of days ahead! A visit with my parents and a birthday party for a friend are the “pen” plans on our weekend list, but I’m going to try and “pencil” in a hike and a drive in movie too.
Although the weekend is a little busy for us, I am so excited because the past couple weekends have been on the slower side, so it’s nice to have a change of pace. Here are a list of my Friday Favorites to kick off your Friday right!
Serving Dinner In (Glass) Tupperware
If I had to choose the top two time savers during the week it would be #1 meal prep and #2 serving dinner in tupperware. I know this seems all Trailer Park Boys-ish, and maybe it is, but it saves SO much time. Just snap on the lid when you’re done and throw it in the fridge. No dishes & no mess. Of course, when we have guests over this tupperware hack doesn’t fly, but when it’s just us, man-oh-man do we love it.
This picture is from Wednesday night when we had american chopsuey with a side of carrots and my low carb biscuits (get the recipe here). My pasta is black bean pasta because it’s GF, lower in carbs, and packed with protein. Justin likes the black bean pasta too, but was feeling regular pasta this night. Get the black bean pasta here.
More Updates to the Chicken Coop
Bird Mansion is complete…at least for now. These hens have the good life and are probably living better than 90% of hens out there thanks to Justin and his Dad’s love for building things. We recently added a shade roof, automatic water-feeder, and outside electric fence (to keep the critters away).
Snickerdoodle Ice Cream
We are HUGE fans of So Delicious ice cream. All their ice creams are dairy free, gluten free, and soy free!! As you can tell from my excitement, it’s very hard to find an ice cream that is all three. The Market Basket near me just started carrying the snickerdoodle flavor so I thought I’d give it a shot. I’m not kidding when I say I went back and got two more the next day. Not only does it have delicious chunks of snickerdoodle cookie in it, but it has a cinnamon/pumpkin/fall taste to it that has me hooked!
Heated Bean Bag
I forgot how much I loved this bean bag until I had THE WORST stomach cramps this past weekend. I threw it in the microwave for 2 minutes, put it on my stomach and ahhhh sweet relief. Jett wanted in on the cuddle action, plus I think he liked the heat coming from the bean bag because he decided to sit right on top of it for an entire 3 episodes of Jane the Virgin.
