Friday Favorites 15 FALL

…and just like that it’s the weekend again! AMEN for short work weeks. Someone needs to make the 4 day work week a real thing. Think about how much more productive we’d be if we knew we only had 4 days to get all of our work in for the week?!

For us, this weekend is dedicated to Fall cleaning and getting the house ready for a New England winter. Screen doors will be replaced with glass, windows and sliders will get a thorough douching, the oil tank will be topped off, and my ice scraper will make its way into the backseat of my car. I know it doesn’t seem too exciting, but anything that comes with the change of seasons is like christmas morning for me, even if they are “chores”.  Is anyone else like this?

Before I get into crazy cleaning mode I wanted to share my usual Friday Favorites with all of you. Let me know in the comments below what’s making you smile this week!

Have a great weekend!

Friday Favorites

@byMariAndrew Instagram

mari andrews

Earlier this week a friend of mine was talking about how obsessed she is with Mari Andrew’s instagram feed. Mari is a writer and illustrator based in NYC. Everyday shes posts funny, relatable, light-hearted, and sometimes thought-provoking sketches. Even though I just started following her, she has quickly become one of my favorites!

AHS

AHS cult

I look forward to this show every Fall! Now on their 7th season, American Horror Story aired their first episode of Cult on Tuesday night. Without giving too much away, it’s loosely based on the 2016 presidential election. There are no Trump characters or Hilary characters, but they do play on the paranoia and the general state of society. There is also a heavy play on clowns, which is pretty freaky even if you aren’t inherently scared of clowns, like myself.

Breaking out the Flannel

Nights here in New Hampshire have been dipping down into the low 40’s for the past two weeks. Although I refuse to put the heat on until October, I have broken out the flannel and am layering up! My favorite way to wear flannel right now is to tie it around my waste in the morning, when it’s too warm to actually wear it, then throw it on towards the evening when the temp starts to drop. Welcome are the days of 80 degree afternoons and 40 degree nights.

Pumpkin Spiced Pancakes

pumpkin pancakes

All black pumpkin everything should be my anthem for Fall. I have been adding pumpkin and pumpkin spice to EVERYTHING lately. It’s in my smoothies, cookies, marinara sauce, and of course pancakes. I just use my low-carb pancake recipe and add a spoonful of pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, brown sugar, turmeric, and ACV.  And for my syrup I mix maple syrup, almond butter, coconut oil, dash of water, and pumpkin pie spice.

The Walking Diabetic

The Walking Diabetic

T1D memes are the best! I have a whole board on my Pinterest page solely dedicated to funny diabetic memes and puns. I love them so much in fact, I made my own t-shirts. Like this Walking Diabetic shirt. My Dad and I joke that when we’re low we zombie walk to the fridge to get our OJ. Arms out, eyes closed, and groaning. You can buy this shirt, and others, at my tee shop HERE.
