Man oh man! This week absolutely FLEW by! Typically, throughout the week, I’ll make note of 4-6 things that are making me smile for my Friday Favorites post. Everyday I’ll take a picture of something and write a little blurb about it. HOWEVER, this week I apparently decided just to take the pictures. So in a race against time – since I have to get to work – here is a short and sweet Friday Favorites!
Friday Favorites #18
Yesterday I spotted these crackers while I was out doing errands. Typically I carry a free-food with me so I can snack and not have to worry about testing & bolusing (because who has time for that?!). When I was so hungry that I was about to eat my own fingers, I spotted these gems! They only have three ingredients (cashews, flax, salt), are raw, free of gluten & dairy & soy, and only have 5 net carbs per serving. So not totally a free food… but pretty close to it!
Full Moon Nights
I love the energy on full moon nights! Last night was the Harvest Moon and the view from our backyard was amazing (although my phone camera doesn’t show it). Watching it rise was the best part; a big yellow moon rising through the folliaged leaves – man! It was beautiful.
I’ve had this cookbook for just over 6 months now and have made TONS of recipes from it. Every recipe has been a homerun for our tastebuds (and my blood sugar numbers!). Earlier this week I made the Baked Olive Chicken for the first time and it was so savory and delicious! My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. I’ve already picked out a few new recipes to make this week and I am so excited to try them! You can buy it HERE on Amazon.
Whenever I’m able to time something perfectly it’s like a little win in my world. And that’s exactly what happened when I was hanging out in the yard earlier this week. I noticed the chickens coming super close to me so I pulled out my camera… The moment I snapped the pic, this happened! Of course I shrieked and they all ran away, but how awesome is the timing?!
Grocery Shopping Day
I love grocery shopping days and Jett does too; especially this time of year since he can come with me. I typically go to the grocery store once a week to pick up the twos-and-fews that the farmers market doesn’t have. This trip was an especially big one since we were out of a lot of staple items like olives, condiments, paper towels, cleaning vinegar, etc.
Question of the Day
What’s making you smile this week?
