Is it just me, or does the week dragggg when a holiday falls on a Monday? I didn’t have Monday off, but for some reason this week has felt longer than usual. But that doesn’t matter, what matters is… IT’S FRIDAY and for me that means the weekend is already here! This weekend I’m hoping we can make a trip up to the Kancamagus Highway to see the foliage. It’s like mother nature turned the foliage switch on overnight. It’s beautiful up here in NH!

As usual, here is a list of a few things that are making me smile this week! I love hearing what’s making you smile, so share with me in the comments below! I hope you all have a great weekend! Talk to you all again on Tuesday!

Friday Favorites #19

Crisp Morning Walks

Friday Favorites crisp morning walks

My early morning walks with Jett are one of my favorite times of the day. There’s something about waking up and walking first thing in the morning that gets my day off to the right start. Even tho I know everyone is probably up and awake before 6:30am, it feels like we woke up before the rest of the world.

Side braid

Friday Favorites side braid

I have a deep love for the side braid. It’s the perfect hair-do to keep your hair off your back and out of your face. It’s the goldilocks of hair-do’s: more put together than a pony but not as fancy as a top knot.

The side braid has saved my fine baby hair all summer long and will especially save it in the upcoming scarf season. All my long baby-hair ladies know what I’m talking about. Scarf-knots are real and they are horrible.

Consigning Unworn Clothes

Friday Favorites consignment

I used to be a clothes hoarder. I would hold onto pieces that I hadn’t worn in YEARS (I’m talking like 4+ years) just in case one day I might want to wear them. But after I read Marie Kondo’s book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up  I realized these hoarded clothes weren’t doing me any good. So every season now, I go through my closet and weed out the lingerers, bringing them to a local consignment store who pays me for what sells and donates what doesn’t.

I don’t drop off this much every season (some seasons I don’t have anything to donate), but earlier this week we cleaned out the downstairs storage closets… I have clothes from 2002 in here!

You Are a Badass Calendar

Friday Favorites calendar 1 Friday Favorites calendar 2

If you’ve read this book (You Are a Badass) then you understand why I had to get this calendar. For those of you who haven’t read the book, it is easily THE MOST inspirational and motivational book I’ve ever read. You should totally get your hands on a copy (here) if you haven’t read it yet.

But enough about the book and back to this badass calendar! This calendar serves up little tidbits of advice and thoughts that are so incredibly nurturing for your mind & soul. Like yesterday’s soul food: You have got to get a handle on your thoughts if you want to change your life. Ooooo I’m just eating it up!

Dexcom Leg Spots

Friday Favorites dex leg spot

It’s so nice when I can give my arms a break! Normally I will only put dex on my leg when it’s the summertime and I can wear shorts and skirts for the next 7-14 days (the average lifespan of my dex), because wearing skinny jeans over a dex site can cause a lot of compression lows and isn’t the most comfortable.

But ladies, it’s legging season which means, Dex is back on the legs!
