Friday Favorites #28 Winter

Boom shaka-laka! It’s Friday people and that means the weekend has already started! The weekends have been funny here in New Hampshire. We get freezing cold weather during the week, and even a snow storm, then when the weekend hits, it warms up to 50, and feels like spring.

Our plans for the weekend are pretty low-key and include a puppy play date, making a bulk chicken feed order, and spending some time with family.

As usual, every Friday I round up a list of things that are making me smile this week. Let me know in the comments below what you’re loving this week!

Friday Favorites #28

Shampoo Bar

earthly shampoo bar

In last weeks Friday Favorites post I mentioned the new multivitamin I’m taking, which is made up of herbal extracts from the company Earthley. When I ordered the vitamins I also ordered this awesome shampoo bar. Yes, shampoo, in a bar form. It’s weird to wrap your head around it at first, at least it was for me, but I think I’m hooked! The shampoo lathers my hair so well and I find that I can easily go a couple days without washing it before it starts to looks limp and greasy. And that says a lot coming from me because for some reason my baby fine, blonde hair, s.t.r.u.g.g.l.e.s. to go even one day without a wash – but still I do it because I know it’s better for my hair. But with this shampoo bar it’s easy.

Amazon Book Order

new books

I went on an Amazon book frenzy the other day and ordered a bunch of books that I want to start reading all right now! The hard part is deciding which one to read first. If you have read any of these let me know in the comments!

New Dexcom Receiver

new dexcom receiver

Looking sleek Dexy! Dexcom recently came out with their new receiver. While I won’t go as far as saying I’m loving the new receiver itself… I will say that what I do love is that Dexcom is pushing out new tech. Check back next week for my thoughts on the NEW Dexcom receiver!

Backyard Egg Freshness

egg yolks

Our hens have been brunting the extreme New England weather like a bunch of champs! Their egg production however, has gone wayyyy down. Instead of getting 9 eggs per day we’re getting more like one or two, which means we’re back to buying grocery store eggs for a short period of time.

Can you tell which one is from our girls? (Hint, it’s not the pale, sickly looking one).

It wasn’t until this winter that I forgot how much more nutrient dense backyard chicken eggs are. With their free roaming, bug eating, moth chasing lifestyles, their eggs are way more nutritious – you can see it plain as day on our skillet! But if you’re more of a stats person check this out.

Everything Hummus

everything hummus

MMMmm I love everything flavored anything! Bagels, crackers, pretzels, cream cheese, and….hummus! I can’t get enough. My favorite combo has been everything hummus with tortilla chips. But I also love to use it as mayo in between sandwiches.
Have you guys tried this flavor before? What are some of your favorites? Let me know in the comments.

Dissolving Illusions is so good! Dr. Humphries is insanely smart and this book is so well written. It’s funny that you just got it because I just finished it this week. My vote would be to read that one first!
