Good morning! How’s your Friday going so far? I woke up super early this morning (thank you 2nd trimester pregnancy hormones) and have felt so ambitious all morning that I’m writing this to you at 6:15am after I’ve already done my morning yoga.
Yes, 2nd trimester hormones are a godsend!
I also have a hot, steaming plate of breakfast sitting right next to me that I want gobble up so let’s get right into what’s making me smile this week!
For those of you wondering what I have here it’s my favorite breakfast of all time… I eat this for breakfast 95% of the time: Drippy Eggs (aka over easy) on my low carb bagels with a side of farmers market sausage, homemade sauerkraut, and avocado. My drink is a low carb chocolate PB banana smoothie. This whole breakfast has around 20g net carbs.

Puppy Play Dates
Back around Christmas my mom and stepdad adopted a sweet mama dog named Maggie. She was super shy at first so I was a bit hesitant to bring Jett over, but when my Mom told me they ran into a neighbor dog and Maggie just lit up and totally came out of her shell I knew it was time to introduce her to Jett.
As you can see, it didn’t take long for the two to bond.
I’m so lucky that my Mom lives close by and we have puppy play dates for these two.
88 Acres Snack Bar
Holy yum! Although we don’t buy packaged foods too often, I do make an acception for bars. They are great to store in the car incase of a non-urgent low (urget lows I use juice or glucose tablets) and perfect for when you’re running errands or on a hike.
I picked up one of these bars last week while grocery shopping and this week went back for more! The chocolate flavor is by far my favorite. And although they have more carbs than I’d like, around 20g per bar, I’ll typically break it in half and eat the other half later.

Raw Alignment Videos
I have been following Raw Alignment on YouTube for some time now. The woman behind the channel Alyse is so inspirational and uplifting, I always feel so energized after watching her videos.
If you haven’t heard of her you should really check her out. In her videos she talks about minimalism, staying healthy (mentally and physically), organization, natural products, and self love. She also lives in Hawaii so the backdrop of her videos is enough in itself to lower your blood pressure!
Beautiful, Still, Winter Mornings
Ahhhh my, sweet, sweet, still, New Hampshire mornings. Every season here in New England brings its own beauty. Right now we are smack dab in the middle of winter and got hit with a pretty crazy ice storm earlier this week. And although that means slow driving, sand trucks, and putting ice picks on my shoes, it also means beautiful mornings like this.
Setting my Dad up with Dexcom
My dad is a well seasoned type 1 diabetic. So naturally, when I got diagnosed (at age 20) he took me under his wing and showed me everything I needed to know about the disease. I’ve quickly caught up to him and am now teaching him a few things about this disease; like introducing him to Dexcom.
He entertained the idea of getting a CGM for years, but kept putting it off. Then when I got on the Dexcom and he saw how insightful it was he made the extra step to get one.
I was so happy when he called me earlier this week and had me walk him through how to put it on and get started. He is loving the insight and I can’t wait to see how this improves his A1C and QOL (quality of life)!
