Hello and good morning friends! I started off this morning with an out-of-the-norm breakfast for me. Usually I am a three-egg and sausage type of woman in the morning, but lately baby has not been feeling it. So oatless oatmeal it is! Get my recipe HERE.
Every week I share a list of things that have been putting a smile on my face. Let me know what you’re loving this week in the comments below!
Friday Favorites #31
Random Dinners
I have not been on my game when it comes to food prep for the week so our dinners have been pretty random to say the least. This lack of preparation has actually been working in my favor because with my intense food cravings that hit this week, I’m able to whip up dinners on the fly to match whatever I’m craving. Like these mini pizzas sided with veggie sticks & hummus, and watermelon.
Mid-Week Snow Storm
On Wednesday, New Hampshire got hit with a pretty crazy snow storm. We got about 7″ of snow in just 5 hours. I left work around noon time and enjoyed the rest of the work day from home.
Jett loves the snow and would spend the entire day outside playing in it if it didn’t make his feet so cold. Whenever this happens, this is how he tells me he’s ready to come in.
Bayer Test Strip Stock Up
This year my insurance is not the greatest when it comes to diabetes supplies. A 1 month supply of test strips would cost me $350 if I went through insurance. However, I can buy the same test strips on Amazon for $60. So, I buy them on Amazon. And although it doesn’t go towards my deductible, that’s okay because I am saving SO much money.
Earlier this week I got a 2 month supply and started to restock my depleted stash. There is nothing like a zombie-apocalypse-sized-stockpile of diabetes supplies to put your mind at ease.
Maple Water
I picked this up the other day at the grocery store when I was in some major need of electrolytes. I wasn’t sure how it was going to taste but with all the right labels on it (non-gmo, certified organic, and made in the USA) and only 8g carbs for the whole bottle I figured I’d give it try.
MMmmm it was so good! If you see this around I highly recommend picking up a bottle! You can also get it on Amazon here.
