Happy Friday! Not only is today SUPER awesome because… well…it’s Friday, but it’s super awesome because Netflix just released Orange Is The New Black season 5! I’m pretty tempted to start watching this on my lunch break at work, but I don’t trust that I’ll be able to stop. Before I get ahead of myself, here is this weeks Friday Favorites.
Orange is the New Black
For those of you who haven’t seen this show, you need to! Get Netflix right now and watch this show. It’s about a woman who seems to have a pretty buttoned up life. Turns out, not so buttoned up. When her past gets dug up she is sentenced to serve 15 months in a federal prison. The series follows her around as she learns to adjusts, and survive, life in prison. This show will have you glued to your couch – no lie.
Now that the 2-month weather pattern of relentless rain & clouds is gone I finally feel more energetic and look forward to my morning workouts. It always amazes me how much of an effect weather has on my mood.
I just started adding sprints to my workout regiment 1-2X/week and WOWZERS! What a workout. I was so incredibly sore after my first one – and all over my body too, not just my legs. This is the beginners workout I’ve been using for the past 2 weeks or so. It doesn’t seem like much, but trust me, if you’ve never done sprint workouts before (like myself) it’s a great place to start.
Having trouble putting your all into a sprint? Imagine that you’re running away from a bear – run for your life!
…as I’m writing this my BG is 224mg/dL…because of grapes. That’s right, I still haven’t mastered the grape bolus yet, but I’m getting there (I think). Grapes are one of my favorites fruits and for the longest time I stayed away from them because I couldn’t figure them out (clearly I still can’t).
But every summer, when they come back in season I give it another go. This time I’m determined to master the grape bolus!
