Wowzers, what a busy week last week was! I know I usually keep these casual posts for Friday, but since Halloween was on Monday, I wanted to get this one out sooner in the week rather than later. So let’s dive right into Halloween!

Miles decided on Spider-Man as his halloween costume and totally acted the part. Super hero’s seem to be SUPER popular right now, so I wasn’t surprised when we saw over a dozen Spider-Man costumes and other Marvel characters.

Our town had a Halloween Celebration where they had SO MANY fun things for the kids to do. They had trunk-or-treating, a haunted story book walk, games like hula-hoop pumpkin toss, and a haunted house. There was also a HUGE open field and playground so all the kids were running around, wrestling, and playing – burning off all that energy (and sugar!)

I think the creepiest thing I saw during our trick-or-treating was a red balloon coming out of a sewer. I didn’t take a picture, but I’m sure you can imagine it, especially if you’ve seen the movie IT.

After trick-or-treating Miles usually picks a few candies he wants to keep and then trades in the rest for healthier goodies. While some of these are by no means healthy, they are free of dyes and a lot of other junk.

I end up taking the trick-or-treating candy to our local food shelter or my office candy jar.

We stopped off at the library on Tuesday and picked up a bunch of new books for the week. We always end up spending a good hour there because they always have some kind of activity planned for the kids and lots of fun toys.

After I took Miles’s picture he wanted to take mine with our stack of books and Minions DVD. We had really high hopes for this book (Unplugged) because the cover and illustrations looked great, but it was a flop. I do not recommend.

I hope your Halloween weekend was great, and let me know what you do with all that Halloween candy!

I always traded in my candy. After all my dad usually ate all my candy anyway, and since they worked during the day, I could eat all the candy I wanted and blame my dad. Win \ Win if you ask me.
