Well, spring is exciting. If I showed up with a pink flamingo supply case, Sheryl might call me a doctor, but not an endo. LOL
HAHAHA that would be a good call!

Omnipod 5 is certainly exciting! I have been using a Medtronic in auto mode for almost 4 years and really like it, but after 8 years of tubing am thinking of a change. My pump’s warranty is up this year and I’m seriously considering an Omnipod. In the community, it seems like there is a lot of criticism of tubed pumps, especially Medtronic – but besides the annoying tubes my 2 pumps have worked so well for me. I don’t see a ton of criticism out there for Omnipod, which is probably a good thing, but still curious if I am missing something. I plan tune in to the podcasts you listed above, but from your experience with Omnipod, are there downsides or things you would note to someone considering a switch? Thanks in advance!
The omnipod is amazing. Being tube free and not having to disconnect it to swim/shower/etc is amazing. I often forget where it is on my body because of how inconspicuous it is. Over the 6+ years I’ve been using it I really can’t think of any downsides to it. Of course I’ve had some pods that have died on me, whether to pod occlusions (this is when there is a kink in the canula and insulin can’t be delivered) or static electricity (this can cause the pod to shut down). When that happens the pod will sound an alert, and you just put a new one on. And omnipod will replace it for you at no cost. It doesn’t happen often, if i had to guess, its happened less than 10 times in the 6+ years i’ve had it.
I will say it’s the only pump i’ve tried, so I have nothing to compare it to. But I seriously love it so much that even with closed loop systems out there currently, I’ve never even considered switching.
