What’s that? You’re looking for a product review on the Road ID medical alert bracelet? Well good thing, you’ve come to the right place!

While I may not be the most experienced medical bracelet user, I am the most picky. Not only do I never wear jewelry (despite having 4 piercings – thank you teenage years), but I am also pretty sensitive to metals, so picking out a medical alert bracelet is very challenging.

Why A Medical Alert Bracelet?

Having a medical alert bracelet helps paramedics out big time by taking out some of the guess work; allowing them to treat you faster. Yes, it’s true that they would eventually figure out you’re diabetic, but that’s only if your sugars are out of rage. And the faster they can treat you the better you are.

Why I Chose Road ID

When looking for a medical alert bracelet I had a long list of requirements; I needed something that was,

  • durable
  • waterproof/okay to get wet
  • affordable
  • non-metal (or at least mostly non-metal)
  • non-dangly and no charms
  • no clasp

It seemed like an impossible feat, until I did the impossible. I found the holy grail of medical alert bracelets: Road ID’s Wrist ID Slim.

The bracelet is made up of a silicone band with a stainless steel (surgical quality) ID plate. The silicone band comes in 5+ color options, tho I prefer the black myself. You can also choose to customize your band by adding custom badges.

…and that’s not even the best part!

The best part: you can choose a scratch guard option for the ID plate. The edges on the plate are raised to provide extra protection so the engravement stays fresh and legible. This is a biggy for me because I wear my medical alert bracelet 24/7. Needless to say it gets pretty beat up.

They also have an interactive feature that you may be interested in, so definitely check that out!
