Now don’t worry, I’m not about to tell YOU what to do with YOUR diabetes. That’s up to you and your diabetes team. I am not here giving you medical advice.
What I do want to do is ask you some questions regarding your A1c…
Evaluating Your A1c
What was your last A1c? How do you feel about it?
How does your doctor feel about it?
Are you guys on the same page?
I’m asking you these questions because new research is telling us that any blood sugar over 140 mg/dL causes permanent organ damage.
I’m not saying this to scare you. Just the opposite.
You know the cliche saying, Knowledge is Power.
It’s true. Knowledge is powerful.
Knowing the threshold and where the damage happens, is HUGE! It’s HUGELY AMAZING because now we have a specific range to work with, it’s no longer some arbitrary goal of “do the best you can, try to be under 7, but diabetes is what it is, so 🤷♀️”.
And it makes sense. If we want to avoid diabetic complications we need to NOT BE in the diabetic range.

Below is an A1c conversion chart.
What would your ideal goal A1c be?
A healthy non-diabetic range is anywhere from 4.4 to 5.7mg/dL.
Do you think you could achieve that? Is that what you want to strive for?
