Is your mouth watering yet? Just typing Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie makes my taste buds come alive again! I made this recipe for the first time yesterday and I can’t believe I have gone this long without making it! I got the recipe from a magnificent cookbook, Everyday Detox, by Megan Gilmore. Her cookbook is amazing and I HIGHLY recommend adding it to your cookbook collection. It has quickly become my holy grail of cookbooks because everything I’ve made from it has been super delicious.
What You’ll Need
- 2 Frozen Bananas
- 1 C Milk (I used coconut milk)
- 2 TBSP Cocoa Powder
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 TBSP Maple Syrup
- 1/4 C Peanut Butter (or Almond Butter)
- Pinch of Salt
- 7 Ice Cubes
Blend all ingredients in a high speed blender and enjoy!
This recipe makes enough for 2 servings and is great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or even as a snack. It’s packed with protein and vitamins so it would also be great as a post workout snack. I bet you could even sneak in a handful of spinach or kale.
For my diabetic friends, this recipe has roughly 30 carbs per serving (recipe above makes 2 servings).
